As mentioned in January, this month we have a slightly different format, one main talk plus several short talks covering different projects from Node.js enthusiasts in our community.
An Introduction to Node.js
A talk by George Ornbo (@shapeshed). What do you get if you mix Google Chrome and the JavaScript programming language? A strangely beautiful love-child for creating fast, scalable network applications. Discover how JavaScript is bridging the gap between browsers and servers and making it easier than ever to create real-time games and applications.
George is a London-based hacker who started out as a fresh-faced front-end developer, grew some stubble and got sucked into the vortex of server-side development. He has worked with a number of startups including seatwave.com and londontaxiapp.com and spent three months in the Far East of Russia hacking in temperatures of -25°C. George is currently authoring Sams Teach Yourself Node.js in 24 Hours, a beginners book on Node.js. He blogs at shapeshed.com and works atpebblecode.com.
